A Dairing, Preppy Sweet 16

I always feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful vendor clients.  Some of the wedding and event planners even make me feel like I am part of their team.  One of these wonderful planner is Adair of Dairing Events here in Jacksonville, Florida.  

Each of Adair's clients are all different and unique yet all have this special things about them... I am not quite sure how to explain it but they are like a sorority of brides and clients all kept by the special bond of being a Dairing Bride or Dairing Client.  

Recently I had the pleasure to make some monogram goodies for a Dairing Client, Lauren, who was having a super sweet 16. On the Dairing Events blog, Adair said, "we coined the phrase "Preppy Glam" with mixing gold glitter and sequins, with pops of pink and navy." 

For the head table, I made a table top standing wooden monogram that was painted in pink and covered in glitter.

Upon entering into the main room, a large gold glitter woodn monogram hung as a backdrop behind the welcome table.

A monogram dance floor decal sat in the middle of the dance floor area.

I think Adair and Lauren got it right when they thought up "preppy glam!"
 

It was a super sweet affair for a super sweet young lady.  I am honored to have been asked to be a part it.

I was honored to get the call from Atlanta's top rated wedding and event planner, ellyb events, to contribute on a Mindy Weiss project for the famous singer, Monica's baby shower. It was even more exciting when I saw it the next week on so many different websites including People.com

We made their monogram logo pillows for the lounge area, large custom vinyl decals of the logo monogram on the bar / buffet station and the 20 2' laser cut wooden horses placed around the outdoor party area that also coordinated with the logo monogram.

Decals and Burlap???

Earlier today, Cocktails & Details posted a beautiful inspiration collection of woods, metals and burlap on Facebook... and it inspired me.

I love anything personalized and burlap happens to be one of my favorite decorating materials... so why not mix the two?  

One of the good things about being a craft addict is that 9 times out of 10, you have all of the materials you need right in your studio when an idea unleashes in your mind... especially if you are like me and cannot do anything else until the project is complete.

I first sewed two small pillows with the burlap material, leaving a corner on each open to stuff.

I cut the decals and peeled out the lettering to make a stencil.  I used the application tape to adhere the vinyl on the burlap how I wanted it.

Then painted.

After it dried (didn't really let it dry all of the way... I was to anxious to get it done)... My assistant helped me to stuff the pillows. 

She smiled almost the whole time and said to me, "this is fun. Can we make more pillows?"

Little does she know... we will be!

After we stuffed them I stitched up the open corner and viola!!!

{Introducing} Wooden Cut Out Monograms

By now I am pretty sure you have figured out that I just love monograms and all things personalized... and have seen that I decal just about everything I can get my hands on.  I am so excited to introduce my newest monogram goodies... wooden cut out monograms!

These come as the bare wood cut out monogram but can be painted to your liking (the one above was painted by client, Kathleen - She did a great job).

Sizes come in all even sizes from 6" - 36" tall.  Sizes 6" - 18" tall are available on my website.  Larger sizes must be ordered via email: ten23designs@gmail.com.

Someone recently asked me if I decal everything I come in contact with. To which I replied, "Of course not... but I do try!" 

I found this cute pair of rain boots at a kids consignment sale this weekend.  They were marked $4.50 with 50% off.  I just couldn't pass us the $2.25 deal... especially when they were just yelling, "Please decal me!"

I added a monogram decal to for my toddler daughter and even found a cute shirt that coordinates with them.  Now I just have to make her a personalized rain umbrella with these colors and she will be all ready to splish and splash in the rain!

{Inspiration Board} A Chic County Love Affair

Last summer I had the honor of participating in a photo shoot by Christy Whitehead Photography of Northeast Florida.  I got to work with Southern Charm Events, Kakes By Katie, A Fantasy in Flowers and The Keeler Property.  It was a great experience to see the behind the scenes of a styled photo shoot AND I got to put together my first table scape (well two of my first table scapes).

Here is the first table scape I styled. This is my, Black and White with Lime all over design.  I love black and white with pops of bright color, so I decided to go with lime for my first since it is part of my branding color palette. 

For the black accents, I decided to throw in some chalkboard decor from my new collection.  The charger plates are completely chalkboard so they are a lot of fun to write messages on.  You could also use them as seating markers by adding a person's name to them.

The wine glasses have a stylish chalkboard label on them... also great to use as a seating marker.

The vases with the custom monogram decals make for a great detail piece and best of all, they can easily be used in the home after the wedding or event they are being used for.  If you didn't want to keep the monogram decals on there, you could always peel them right off.  Just another reason why decal is so great... you can easily peel off and resale items or even rent items and remove them before you return them.  Easy Peasy!

Overall it was a great day, at a great venue with great vendors... couldn't have asked for anything better for my first on the scene photo shoot.

{Real Wedding} The Wine & Love Letter Box by Nicole

Last year, Nicole of The Plunge Project came to me with a project.  She wanted me to turn her monogram into a decal to place on a wine box for special part of her upcoming wedding ceremony.  Done!

She and her groom each separately wrote love notes to each other on the eve of their wedding day.  During the ceremony they took their letters and placed them in the wooden wine box and sealed it... only to be opened on their 10th wedding anniversary.  Sweet huh?!?
